Lourdes Came to Texas

March 25th-28th 2007

March 25

Pere Regis-Marie de La Teysonniere, Chaplain of Honor at Lourdes, France and Marlene Watkins, Foundress of North American Lourdes Volunteers, gave a Virtual Pilgrimage of Lourdes to the parishoners of St. William's in Greenville, Texas.  Pere Regis-Marie and Marlene invite us to join Bernadette at the Grotto of Massabielle.  We were invited to touch  a portion of the actual rock that Our Lady stood upon during the 18 apparitions.  Later on during our pilgrimage we are invited to wash in the spring.  Volunteers hold basins filled with Lourdes water for all to wash in.

March 26

Pere Regis-Marie takes St. William's on a spiritual journey through the Footsteps of Bernadette.  We learn of her life of love and suffering and of her love for Our Lord in the Eucharist and her ardent desire to receive her First Holy Communion.

March 27

Pere Regis-Marie and Father Paul Weinberger, pastor of St. William's lead us in the Stations of the Cross with meditations based on the writings of St. Bernadette.  Following the Stations Father Paul exposes the Blessed Sacrament for Adoration.  The evening concludes with Benediction.  Truly a beautiful and grace filled evening.

March 28

Pere Regis-Marie and Father Paul lead an outdoor rosary procession by candlelight.  Each pilgrim,  a member of St. William's, has a candle and at each refrain of the Immaculate Mary Hymn the candles are raised just as if we were in Lourdes.  Ave, Ave, Ave, Maria, Ave, Ave, Maria!
