The gathering of the bishops for the synod proved that the topic was settled and posed less than 1% of importance compared with the other pressing Church issues francis had to face.....hence the declaration - no women deacons

Now in an about face, francis has imposed something contrary to canon law.......if the presiding group of bishops at the synod have decided that there can be no women deacons then this is the final standing on the issue.

francis is going beyond his powers and it will not fare well for him
the diaconate is the preparation for the priesthood
women already have leading roles in the church such as preparing people for sacraments

this power play is not good for the church ....neither from francis or the women pressing for admission to the diaconate.
i worry so much for their souls

on my usual book search, i found this possible-interesting read: A Concise Guide to Canon Law

dare i read on after seeing this in the opening page:
“Those curious about the basics of canon law will find here the canons handily organized by topic and accompanied by FAQs as well as a helpful glossary.

Aldean Hendrickson’s careful revision of Fr. McKenna’s popular text seamlessly incorporates the many changes made to canon law by Pope Francis.
