For the liturgy, "through which the work of our redemption is accomplished," (1) most of all in the divine sacrifice of the Eucharist, is the outstanding means whereby the faithful may express in their lives, and manifest to others, the mystery of Christ and the real nature of the true Church.
while interstate, i attended vigil mass at St mary's cathedral (not the st mary's in brisbane which has been featured on this forum and others for their liturgical abuses)
sadly the cathedral practises were nothing like our st patricks cathedral in melbourne.
6 EMHC were up in the sanctuary consecrating with the celebrant arggghhh
an elderly lady was conducting the pouring of the wine into chalices for the priest then they stood around him behind the altar while he consecrated
lots of self intinction going (communicants dipping the Host into the Precious Blood) instead of drinking from the chalice
man oh mannnn
"He who followeth Me, walketh not in darkness." sayeth the Lord
NOT GOOD! Sorry you had to witness that but can you imagine how Our Lord must feel?
Devotion to the souls in Purgatory contains in itself all the works of mercy, which supernaturalized by a spirit of faith, should merit us Heaven. de Sales
why arent our EMHC prepared properly in this all important lay ministery
in oz, dvd's with workshops have been prepared for church group leaders to train ministers properly. I was asked to comment on the program......i gave it the thumbs down because IMO it didnt cover liturgical abuses in practise nor the vaticans concerns via the redemptionis sacramentum document released....people are starting to believe its the norm
