Today on spiritdaily.com, there was a title headline advertising for an alleged apparition "Our Lady of the Finger Lakes" in upstate New York. As I clicked and read the 'recent messages' section, I became suspicious. The language mirrored that of Medjugorje when it said "Thank you for your faithfulness."
Remembering that Our Lady doesn't speak like that in any of the approved sites, I went back and discovered that indeed, this 'Finger Lakes' claim is nearly a blatant rip-off of Medjugorje's "Thank you for having responded to my call." Look at the earlier messages to find this.
Danger, Danger, Danger!

Our Lady of the Finger Lakes
Kevin,
Also, I am very glad you brought this false apparition to our attention. Would you be so kind as to list your top 5 or so reasons for discerning the false nature of this? I am sure that information is very helpful to those learning to discern based on the Church's laws about such matters.
Blessings,
Lori

Normally, I would acquiesce to the request. However, there are two reasons why I am unable to.
-1.) Nothing is written down and I haven't thought much on it to put it formally in writing.
-2.) With what I do know, I don't want to have that sort of information flying around the Internet. I am concerned that false visionaries will pick up on it and try to incorporate it in their hoax.
This is not to say that this 'visionary' of Finger Lakes is deliberately putting a hoax on. She could be deluded by the devil. All I know is there is a clear, very clear parallel between her and Medjugorje.
I'm suspicious that she went on pilgrimage to Medjugorje shortly before seeing these 'visions' or read something on it.
