In this forum you can write about your relationship with the Lord, your spiritual life, devotions you may take part in, works of Mercy you have done, what apostolates you are part of, ask for prayer, talk about the heavenly family (The Saints, Holy Mother, The Lord), talk about the triumphs in your life, and the misfortunes in your life.

Course from "The Catholic Thing"

Post by Denise »

Dear Friends of The Catholic Thing:

I’m delighted to be able to recommend to you a new TCT course that responds to the need many people feel today about developing a truly Catholic spiritual life. Beginning on March 20, in the middle of Lent, one of our TCT regulars, theology professor Randall Smith, will be guiding students through a great classic of Western spirituality and mysticism: St. Bonaventure’s Journey of the Soul into God (Itinerarium mentis in Deum).

Bonaventure was a Franciscan – in fact, he became Minister General of the Franciscan Order, owing not only to his deep learning and holiness, but to his practical wisdom. He was roughly contemporaneous with Thomas Aquinas and, like Thomas, embodies the best Catholic thought and practice during the High Middle Ages.

In our time, when it often seems that the Catholic spiritual tradition has all but disappeared, Bonaventure offers a brief but rich explanation of how the soul may move by concrete steps towards a closer relationship with the Almighty.

On this Itinerary, you will encounter both enlightening philosophical and theological ideas, and advice about how to make those principles part of your life.

This will be a popular course and space is limited. So I urge you to click the button below and register for what I’m convinced will be a life-changing experience.

Devotion to the souls in Purgatory contains in itself all the works of mercy, which supernaturalized by a spirit of faith, should merit us Heaven. de Sales
