Mt dear friend Janet went for chemo Tuesday. She abd her husband are homeless and therefore staying in my back room. So it is a two hour drive for them to get to where her doctors are.
She left our house Monday night with pain levels at a 1 or 2. Overnight this suddenly turned into pain level 8. At the appointment, it became pain level 9. So chemo was canceled until pain levels are under control.
When the ER couldn't get the pain down, she was admitted to the hospital. She was getting morphine every 20 minutes yesterday, but it wasn't helping, so she asked for it to be discontinued. Palliative care was to be called in and hopefully they were able to have stronger pain killers, but I have not heard back. They want to run some bone scans, maybe mri? Once the pain is under control she can reschedule chemo and come back here.
Last I knew, doctors didn't know why the sudden change in pain levels.
Please just keep her, her husband, and my family in your prayers. It's bad enough that we will eventually lose her, but I truly hate the thought of her in so much pain.

Praying for Janet and family. What kind of cancer does she have?
To be honest, if her cancer is stage 4, chemo may do her in. It is what killed my brother a week after his first treatment and mom passed less than two months after her first treatment. When she learned that her chemo didn't do a thing she opted not to do further treatments. Sometimes the chemo is the cause of lots of pain after it is done. Lets pray that Janet doesn't suffer a lot. If you get the chance to speak to her, suggest that she offer her pain up at the foot of the Cross along with Jesus' sufferings for the salvation of the world and the Holy Souls.

Re: Prayers for Janet
Thank you for the prayers.
I don't know enough about the chemo. She has it twice a month. She was told it would extend her time. It makes her tired afterwards. But she didn't even have the chemo this time around.
The cancer is colon cancer.

Thank you so much for your prayers!!
This is the latest news I was given. God has a plan, even if I don't know or understand what it is.
