August 20th St Laura Of Pollenza

Post by Denise »

Santa Laura de Pollenza was a female martyr who was executed in the 3rd century for her faith in Christ. She was beheaded in the early 4th century in Rome, Italy and buried in the Roman catacombs.

Her relics were exhumed on January 4, 1846 and enshrined in the church of Santa Maria del Trebbio, near the Franciscan Convent of Pollenza, Italy. The relics were re-centered in an urn on May 27, 1889 in the Collegiate Church of San Biagio. Her relics were rediscovered in May 1912
Devotion to the souls in Purgatory contains in itself all the works of mercy, which supernaturalized by a spirit of faith, should merit us Heaven. de Sales
