A MUST SEE PIC of the PAPA

Post by Denise »

Devotion to the souls in Purgatory contains in itself all the works of mercy, which supernaturalized by a spirit of faith, should merit us Heaven. de Sales

praying for his Holiness Pope Benedict....tireless worker for God's Holy Church......In reflection let us all recognize Pope Benedict XVI for his steady leadership and unwavering defense of our faith.

This is the first time in nearly 600 years that a pope has resigned, and despite all the speculation we must give thanks for his time with us and his amazing leadership....

A "digital thank you card" has been organised for His Holiness (link posted below this message), feel free to send yer thanks and best wishes to Pope Benedict XVI.

According to church rules, the conclave to elect a new pope can convene no sooner than 15-20 days after the sitting pope leaves office. This puts the earliest date the conclave can meet at March 15. However, every pope for the past 600 years has died in office and the 15-20 day period was designed as a period of mourning. Obviously that is not necessary in this situation, and as a result, Pope Benedict is considering changing the rules.

Electing a new Pope during Lent as we prepare for Holy Week is a blessing. During this holy season we reflect upon the sacrifice Christ made by dying for us, and are reminded of the sacrifice Benedict made by answering the call to the priesthood and papacy. So as we wait in anticipation for the election of a new pope, let's join in prayer for:

Pope Benedict XVI has he embarks on the next stage of his life;

The cardinals responsible for electing a new pope;

The man who will become the next pope;

Catholic priests throughout the world; and

Catholics all over the world.

This is the time for Catholics to unite in faith and stand firm for our beliefs.....the church enters a new dawn....

send a digital thank you to Pope Benedict XVI

Long live the Holy Father...
blessings
