I think Pope Leo already has this in mind to restore the TLM.
In a previous post we discussed how he is waiting for the mourning period for his predecessor
to pass before he will take action.
As a Canon lawyer, like Cardinal Burke, Pope Leo would be aware that the directive was questionable.
Pope Leo is so thoughtful, unlike his predecessor who changed the directive while Benedict was still
alive.
Psychologically, that shows deep down he felt inferior to the wisdom of Benedict so meddling in one
of Benedict's directives, just because he can, eventuated.
There is no other logical reason why the mass was banned.
First it was , priests had to get Bishop's permission
then even that was removed.
I recall our last Latin Mass at St Patrick's Cathedral.
our Archbishop attended in solidarity, but the directive came from Rome that he couldnt give permission,
and had to cease the Latin Mass being celebrated there.
As for francis' "...after discussion with the bishops around the world..."
to which the bishops were perplexed because weren't even consulted...
so Francis' statement was _ _ _ _
