Pope Leo stands firm on women push for ordination

Post by MarieT »

poor papa leone,
already bombarded with the woman cleric issue

glad he is standing firm, acknowledging the gifts of women, but reiterating that the church after 2000 years isn't going to go back on its teachings, despite women now rising to roles of presidents or other higher roles.

Good on him !

oops addendum,
he is dressed as a priest, not as a pope
but we get the gist of his thoughts on women priests

He had to know the issue was headed his way sooner or later.
I think he handled it with grace.

When I was protestant, I didn't understand and asked why the Church didn't ordain women. But once it was explained to me, I haven't ever thought the church would go back on this teaching. I have never wanted Her to either.

Devotion to the souls in Purgatory contains in itself all the works of mercy, which supernaturalized by a spirit of faith, should merit us Heaven. de Sales
