glad he is standing firm, acknowledging the gifts of women, but reiterating that the church after 2000 years isn't going to go back on its teachings, despite women now rising to roles of presidents or other higher roles.

He had to know the issue was headed his way sooner or later.
I think he handled it with grace.
When I was protestant, I didn't understand and asked why the Church didn't ordain women. But once it was explained to me, I haven't ever thought the church would go back on this teaching. I have never wanted Her to either.
