We get eggs from our friend, and they are huge. Sometimes I will buy them if we run out, which I did. We went to the store and eggs were more than six dollars a carton. I was not happy but bought some anyway.
Our neighbor on the property behind us have many chickens. They love to free range on our property, and we keep watch to see if they might be laying eggs somewhere. I have a large bed of thick ground cover under my kitchen window, and we noticed they have been roosting in it, but no eggs there yet.
Yesterday Stephen was preparing to make a run to the dump, which is necessary in the country. We have a very large brush pile back there from me cutting and trimming trees etc. As Stephen was pulling things out of the pile, he saw a den down under brush and lo and behold there were 7 or 8 eggs in it.

He brought them in, and I did the test on them to see if they were good and every one of them were. Wow, what a find. We will leave their nest alone now. Stephen is considering putting a small coup in the area that is enclosed in case they want to lay more eggs. We won't confine them but just give them a place to roost when they are eating in our yard. He was watching this morning and saw a hen come out but when he went to check there were no eggs yet.
As I said, the Lord will provide.
