I agree only if the backstabbing and gossiping are to ruin someone that is innocent, but if someone is just trying to give warning about what some are doing against Christ and His Church, then it isn't wrong. St. Francis de Sales said, "It is an act of charity to cry out against the wolf 🐺 when he is among the sheep."

If someone is trying to warn against errors etc, i wouldn't call it gossiping or backstabbing.
But everything is getting a new definition these days. 8-)
