The Catholic Church, of course, is indefectible; but I argue now that Francis has accomplished the mission of ruining the temporal manifestation of the Church. As Archbishop Fulton Sheen had foreseen, we now have the “ape of the Church… emptied of its divine content.”

Pope Francis: Mission Accomplished
Devotion to the souls in Purgatory contains in itself all the works of mercy, which supernaturalized by a spirit of faith, should merit us Heaven. de Sales
Re: Pope Francis: Mission Accomplished
Francis cannot ruin the Catholic Church...only himself.
His controversial statements are his own opinion, and when Bishops, Cardinals etc bring to light the issue,
his refusal to listen, breaks himself from the collegiality and rejection of the work the Spirit is doing.
This has no bearing on the Church but on the pride of the man himself.
The Holy Spirit sustains the church. One who acts contrary to the mission, by his very actions, breaks himself from the Church.
As for this statement
when in fact, St Thomas emphatically acknowledged that Revelation and faith (the response to God's revelation) are also important factors of understanding God, along with reason.

It is rather misleading, in that it implies that St Thomas stated these are the only ways to "arrive at God.."Technically, that is true. In fact, you do not need any church to “arrive at God.” St. Thomas Aquinas developed five arguments by which human reason alone could “arrive at God.”

...and let us not forget Jesus' words
...and on this rock, I will build my church
and not even the gates of hell will prevail against it
