prayers for Michael avoiding amputation

Post by MarieT »

Sadly I've just heard that a young man (Michael) with a family, developed swelling in foot and was rushed to hospital by ambulance....antibiotics didnt work....he is coughing up blood.........the Dr wants to amputate his leg.

Please pray Michael recovers and doesnt need such a radical amputation.
Lord mercifully hear our prayers.

Hi guys,
the doctors have decided not to operate again.
Marked improvement.
They will continue antibiotic treatment.
I'll keep; you all informed as to progress.

Those prayers are working!
Please keep them coming!!!

some bad news
overnight issues
they decided to just make incision to the foot and try and remove infected tissue before further spread

procedure went well but kidneys and liver have some damage -they are unsure of the extent - awaiting Dr's report tomorrow

according to reports, Michael is awake and colour returning and eating heartily

please keep continuing to pray he doesnt lose his foot
thanks in advance

alas the latest update is very sad

received this a few mins ago
Hi Guys,
Michael will be transferred to aspecialist Melbourne hospital
as there is nothing more they can do here to save his foot.
Michael's fever spiked and they couldnt
give paracetemol because of his liver and kidney damage.
The foot will probably be amputated if nothing can be done
at Melbourne.
Ambulance booked to transport him.
please keep prayers coming for this family.
Lord mercifully hear all prayers.

many thanks

the fact it was improving at one stage.....they shouldn't have gone in and cut....that would have elevated bp and put stress on organs

my suggestion was to get him to melbourne pronto but they decided against
until they couldnt do anything anymore

Lord mercifully be with Michael and family

St. Ignatius of Loyola’s leg was shattered by a cannonball in the Battle of Pamplona in 1521.

Because of that cannonball, the damage it left and his own vanity (he had bone in the leg removed
after it had initially healed to remove an unsightly bump), he had a lengthy convalescence.
As a result of this stationary and solitary time, St. Ignatius read a book on Christ and a
book on the lives of the saints. This was the start of his conversion.

What would his life been like if that cannonball did not hit his leg?

I’m pretty sure Ignatius did not expect to reform ... and, most notably, become a saint!
The cannonball was a surprise to Ignatius—but a sign of the Holy Spirit working in his life.

These God-surprises are abundant in our lives ... but we often resist the work of the Holy Spirit.
