February 5th JESÚS MÉNDEZ MONTOYA

Post by Denise »

JESÚS MÉNDEZ MONTOYA was born in Tarímbaro, Mich. (Archdiocese of Morelia), on June 10, 1880. Vicar of Valtierrilla, Gto. (Archdiocese of Morelia). Priest who knew how to do everything to everyoneHe spared no means to intensify the Christian life among his parishioners. He was subjected to long hours in the confessional where converted Christians came out or with desires for greater perfection due to his prudent advice. He lived with poor families, he was a catechist and guide for the workers and peasants; and an assiduous music teacher who formed a good choir for the celebrations. On February 5, 1928, federal forces entered to quell a small group of Cristeros and then went to the house where Father Jesús was hiding, who tried to save a ciborium with consecrated hosts. Discovered by the soldiers, he asked them for a moment to consume the Blessed Sacrament and it was granted. Then, sweetly, she turned to one of his sisters and said: «It is the will of God. Let his will be done From him  ». The soldiers took him a few meters outside the temple atrium and sacrificed him with three shots. The priest who took advantage of his human knowledge and his knowledge of God to make Jesus Christ love, with his blood proclaimed his great love for Christ the King.

Devotion to the souls in Purgatory contains in itself all the works of mercy, which supernaturalized by a spirit of faith, should merit us Heaven. de Sales
