pg 419,
Wow! Makes one stop and think about true motives. It is so scary for me when I stop and think about why I do some of the things I do. This is why I depend on the Mercy of God!
Devotion to the souls in Purgatory contains in itself all the works of mercy, which supernaturalized by a spirit of faith, should merit us Heaven. de Sales
This made me question my motives too. One can lose peace over such thoughts. I follow the advice of Mother Angelica and St Louis de Montfort. Both in their own way say to let Our Lady sort out all the things that I do so imperfectly. It is only that and my faith in the Divine Mercy that I have any peace at all. I mess everything up myself and often times have to wonder (in retrospect of course) if I was thinking about God at all, or just blindly letting my feelings guide me again. I long to hear the Lord say "Well Done!" one day. But I think the best I'll be able to get is "Come in anyhow, I forgive you."
Lord help us all who struggle on the Way to You.
