Our Lady of Laus

Heresy experiments in distortion; orthodoxy developes in proportion. The false emphasis is not only a wrong in itself but it is used as a means of diverting the eyes of men in the wrong direction. Van Zeller

Our Lady of Laus

Post by KevinSymonds »

I am sure that by now, most if not all of you have heard about the recent approval of the Our Lady of Laus apparitions in France. I do not know much at all about these visions but from what I know (next to nothing), there seems to be nothing wrong, especially since the Bishop has approved it. Furthermore, it doesn't seem as though we have another Amsterdam case where Bishops have consistently disapproved it with Rome's backing, then suddenly flying out of nowhere with an approval.

At any rate, a parallel between Laus and Medjugorje has been made that our kind webmistress has made me aware of. I offer to you my thoughts and response to the challenge:

E-mail is a wonderful tool.

I wrote the Laus shrine and asked them about the parallel people are making about Medjugorje & Laus. Monsieur d'Alancon, the shrine spokesman, was kind to write me back with a definitive response.

Our Lady's name in this apparition has a bit a divine irony.

Notre Dame du Laus sounds almost exactly like Notre Dame de l'eau.

No truh Dam doo low. l'eau (low) means water.

So it could mean Our Lady of the Water, living water.

I don't know about that one Lori. "l'eau" would be pronounced like the English word "low." "Laus" is like the English word "louse"

The French rarely pronounce the final letter. Laus is LOW.

Lourdes is pronounced LOORD. Paris is pronounced Pear EE.
