Urgent prayer request for my daughter

Please pray for Ingrid Nichole who is in the emergency room as I type with a high fever. They have done labs so I am just waiting for any diagnosis. We have no idea what is wrong.

Here is what I know; her white blood count is high. She has a UTI that has spread to her kidneys. They are keeping her until they are sure there is nothing else going on and they are giving her antibiotics and pain meds.

Thanks JB and Marie. Her white cell count came down but her hemoglobin was 7 and it should be at least 13. We just have no idea yet. Fr. Paul just offered Mass for her. He is such a wonderful priest!

Diagnosis as of today

Acute pyelonephritis is a bacterial infection causing inflammation of the kidneys. Pyelonephritis is generally a complication of an ascending urinary tract infection that spreads from the bladder to the kidneys.

Sepsis (HCC) ?????

Ulcerative colitis is an inflammatory bowel disease that causes chronic inflammation and ulcers in the superficial lining of the large intestine. She has suffered with this for years. Her dad suffered the same thing and some of you may remember several years ago when he was dying and in terrible shape with all this stuff. He was sent to Our Lady of the Lake in Baton Rouge and he had 7 teams of doctors working to heal him. He is alive and well. I pray that Baylor hospital is just as efficient.

Please continue to pray for her. This can be very serious. Thanks

Update from Nichole at 1 PM today.

"The doctor just called my room. So along with the diagnosis mom sent this morning. I also have ESBL E. coli.

Extended-spectrum beta-lactamases (ESBLs) are enzymes produced by some bacteria, including E. coli. This is why the antibiotics I've been on since Thursday have not worked and I'm still hurting and my fevers won't go away. So she's stopping that antibiotic and starting me on Meropenem. Which also treats sepsis. We will go from there."

I spoke with her around 5:30 PM and she was still having bad pains in the abdomen. She told them and they say they don't understand why. Well duh!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway the question is where did she contract e-coli? She eats out for lunch at work and sometimes she goes out to dinner with a friend so who knows where she got it. I know she didn't eat at McDonalds; she despises their food lol. She remembers starting to cramp a while back and just thought it was "lady" cramps so she didn't worry about it until her temp got to 105 Thursday. Thanking God she went to the hospital or we wouldn't have her right now.

I brought her a bottle of St. Torelli holy water and she drank all of it so I am confident he is praying for her and that God will honor the blessing on the water. A priest came by and gave them Holy Communion and each a handmade rosary. That was awesome.

They are supposed to do some kind of scan today I think. It seems the plan changes daily so I have to wait and see.

Ok, with all she is diagnosed with, look what I just got! If people don't believe in miracles maybe they will now.

"No need for GI or anything related to UC on this visit.
They will still do sonogram today.

Best news is I can go home today and no need for at home iv antibiotics…The new culture came back and I can do pill."
