In defense of trick-or-treating

"Catholicism is fabulously frightening, far more so than today’s commercialized creepiness. And for good reason, because Catholicism knows that moral evil is terribly, horribly evil and can send souls to hell."

Devotion to the souls in Purgatory contains in itself all the works of mercy, which supernaturalized by a spirit of faith, should merit us Heaven. de Sales

yet Catholicism holds the truths to salvation in its doctrines
today's concepts aren't as pressing as in days gone by
the message is more of a merciful God who wants to save all his people
but they must respond to the call
"He who followeth Me, walketh not in darkness." sayeth the Lord
