Medjugorje: Good Fruit from a Bad Tree?

Post by Denise » Sat Sep 28, 2024 7:27 am

Fr. Raymond J. de Souza:
The recent Vatican declaration on Medjugorje affirms the good fruit of pilgrimages there, but not that the apparitions themselves are a good tree.

Devotion to the souls in Purgatory contains in itself all the works of mercy, which supernaturalized by a spirit of faith, should merit us Heaven. de Sales

Jesus said - ... a bad tree cannot produce good fruit - Luke 6:43

while people may think that the number of people going there and worshiping is a "good fruit"...
just recall who they are bowing down to and worshiping

the fruits are not good....they are most grievous

breaking the first commandment.....a most grievous sin
and those that promote it will be made accountable at the appointed time
for leading so many astray and causing them to worship something that the
church has condemned as not a true apparition of our Lady

Just received this from my longtime cyber friend Mark Waterinzkx from Belgium.

Dear Friend,

I do not agree with you on Med. I cannot live with this 'decision', where the Vatican decides not to decide

Bishop Peric of Mostar showed me hundreds of proofs that Medjugorje was a fraud from the beginning

I have exchanged a 500 emails with Peric after my 3 hours during visit with him in 1997

Pax et Bonum

P.S. The reaction below(a closer look) from J.Akin is very good

Are people traveling halfway around the world just to say the rosary, go to mass and confession in Medjugorje? I think not. They are going because they BELIEVE that the Blessed Virgin appeared and is continuing to appear there, and all of the Vatican's "guidelines" won't change that fact for these "pilgrims." How can the Vatican give the green light to pilgrimages/devotion regarding the Medjugorje phenomena and remain silent on whether the event is or is not of supernatural origin? Everything about Medjugorje stems from, and originates from, a private revelation. Is the Vatican saying: "believe what you want, just use prudence?"

That's like saying we approve of the Miraculous Medal but will say nothing as to its origin, although everybody knows the origin lies in a private revelation and apparition of the Blessed Virgin. I don't think the "new guidelines" and the Vatican's "Note" on Medjugorje clarifies anything. They should have waited to make any statement until the entire event comes to an end, however long that may take.

every time i see another "medj" item or update, the thing that comes to mind is that the "alleged seers" must be running out of money from royalties for appearances and other paraphernalia they sucked out of people for the last third of a century.

i must admit ...francis not believing in medj was a surprise (he defiantly said that our Lady was not a postal ...that appeared on demand"....

given his past record with going contra to faith and vatican directives...i was sure that would be another synod agenda item alongside homosexuality, denying Christ, etc
