Are we "haters" or faithful to the Truth Who is Christ?

Devotion to the souls in Purgatory contains in itself all the works of mercy, which supernaturalized by a spirit of faith, should merit us Heaven. de Sales

good question to address

Too often the faithful are labelled as "haters" or prejudiced or not compassionate, but the fact of the matter is that the Deposit of Faith entrusted to the Bishops is not for tampering or changing.

I thought it a relevant and fitting painting that was used in the article. The context shows a person caught in sin brought to Jesus to "judge".... the accusers state that according to the law, the person must be stoned to death.

What is Jesus doing during this scenario?

He is writing ...not with a writing tool,......with his finger.....

At the time the accusers did not comprehend the significance of Jesus' act, but today in scriptural studies where the Bible - the Word of God speaks to us even thousands of years later.....the Lord is highlighting that it is His finger that wrote the law onto the Tablets (the Commandments) back in the time of Moses after the Exodus from Egypt, where God saved His people from the horrific slavery and beatings they had to endure.

Jesus is writing with His own finger to highlight that He is the Law and quite profoundly doesn't change the law but challenges the one who is without sin to cast the first stone....

So yes the accusers try to force Jesus' hand by saying "the law states..." but Jesus is showing them that He wrote the law.

Christ is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.
"He who followeth Me, walketh not in darkness." sayeth the Lord
