Francis launches study groups to analyze Synod on Synodality's key issues
Pope Francis has issued a chirograph asking the Dicasteries of the Roman Curia to collaborate with the General Secretariat of the Synod to establish the study groups for “in-depth analysis” of some of the themes that emerged in the first Synod on Synodality assembly.
those who recall a recent post on this forum regarding the Archbishop of Sydney Australia stating that the Women's ordination topic was not a significant one to warrant address... (only comprising 0.01%) and that there "were much more important items that needed addressing".....The synthesis report published at the end of the first synod assembly lists 75 different “matters for consideration,” including women’s access to diaconal ministry, priestly celibacy, and “Eucharistic hospitality” for interfaith couples.
yet there is a suspicion that it may be considered
The article goes on to state that Francis has called on leading experts including theologians, historians, etc...........but where is Cardinal Burke's name? Where are the other Cardinal's who have much more expertise than the cardinals created by Francis -142 cardinals from 70 countries...
There you have it - 142 carefully selected by francis.
Yet the real experts will be missing.
In conclusion, "in depth analysis of some of the themes" of francis' synod, suggests that the backlash received from his synod on synodality - francis wants his team to come up with avenues to touch on issues that were dismissed but could be incorporated....to counteract critical responses to the synod......and to enlighten him (francis) what's actually going on.....
to put in simple terms
francis was not happy with the result of the synod
various experts responded to what was wrong with the synod
he wants his team to reopen the agenda of the synod
and report back to him, arguments against the arguments that surfaced
so he can respond to the experts
good luck with that....
