only in Australia: judicial system stuffs up again re Pell case

Post by MarieT » Thu Feb 08, 2024 12:10 am

the father of the person who charged pell with allegedly "abusing" him when he was a choir boy has been given the all-clear to sue for damages incurred to himself from hearing the story.

lets recap......

someone out of the blue charges Pell with "abuse" when he was a choir boy - of abusing him and another boy
(the other boy flatly denies the allegation and says Pell is innocent)

the person laying charges states the incident occurred on a certain date after mass
The archbishop didnt do the mass on that day
embarrassed, the person accusing states he must have got the date wrong

allegations proved wrong by witnesses.......Pell after the Mass recessional is outside blessing people and chatting with them as well as posing for photos.
the priest entourage return all together to sacristy afterwards (not Pell alone) before changing then heading for a meal

many attest to this (including me as a regular attender at Sunday Mass at the Cathedral)

despite this and the testimonies of numerous witnesses, Cardinal Pell is convicted "guilty" ....despite all evidence proving innocent

sent to prison where delay tactics for appeal are put into motion

after over a year in prison despite evidence proving he was innocent, the High Court of Australia with 7 of the most prominent judges vote 7-0 that Pell should be released immediately and that he should NOT be in prison

Pell released
the accuser is permitted to be free / not charged with false accusation

the father of the choir boy who said Pell never abused them, decides he will sue Pell's "remaining estate" and the Catholic Church for damages .......

the Australian legal system permits him to proceed despite...

now wait for it....the boy stated pell never abused him......and Pell was released after the High court intervention that based on the evidence, he could not have done what accused of

so....any normal person would say
how can this person sue for damages when his son himself stated the event never happened, and the court released Pell

a normal intelligent person would also say...."if you want damages, sue the perpetrator that initiatied, falsified and put an innocent cardinal in prison for over a year and caused much distress to the Cardinal's family and to a nation that cried out in shock and disbelief at the 'foul play' of the legal system

it wasnt until the international media in shock and disbelief caused notice to the so-called Australian legal system which had a duty of care to protect an innocent man wrongly convicted

Anyone can sue for anything but so many times the cases are thrown out, dropped or lost in the end. I have a feeling this character is wasting his money. This just goes to show us how ridiculous the world has gotten, as if we haven't noticed it already.

basically this person who wants to sue pell and the catholic church for causing him distress from the case should be suing the guy who falsified testimony against pell because neither pell or the catholic church initiated it

they suffered the consequences of the shameful false allegations and should be the ones suing instead.
