The Church’s Commonplace Book

Post by Denise » Fri Sep 13, 2024 8:09 am

A commonplace book is a book in which a reader, over his lifetime, and especially in his student years, writes down excerpts from his reading which strike him as so important, and so well expressed, that he wants to treasure them and live by them.

Devotion to the souls in Purgatory contains in itself all the works of mercy, which supernaturalized by a spirit of faith, should merit us Heaven. de Sales

a wonderful habit

in my youth i had a 5 year book where i had to jot down a spiritual event or answer a question each day
and under it would have year.....year +1....year +2 up to 5 years total

its extraordinary looking back and seeing responses over what one would think is a short space of time
"He who followeth Me, walketh not in darkness." sayeth the Lord
