Devotion to the souls in Purgatory contains in itself all the works of mercy, which supernaturalized by a spirit of faith, should merit us Heaven. de Sales

Cardinal Sarah always expressed his concerns where the church was going duringfrancis' pontificate and francis sadly did little to address the issues, instead favouring to go with the swing of political modernism for what many called "popularity points"

francis would have others believe he seems to have backtracked somewhat - saying he was in favour for Ratzinger as pope when others were pushing him in the front line....the puppet pope francis easier to manipulate than the renowned brilliant theologian and spiritual Ratzinger who they could not outwit.....though many are saying 'too little too late" and "....only because francis' way caused catastrophic repercussions, now wants to show he was coerced into it by others but he was always for ratzinger...." ....and a good guy......sadly one is judged by his deeds not his words.....copyright the Bible

As for atheism......the faithful would not dream of it......they pray more fervently when see the world gone mad

Interestingly in my current Biblical Studies, we are covering the Old Testament prophets who went around preaching destruction unless people repented......and they did -- also the King of Nineveh heeded and put on sackcloth........we need leaders like that....to hear the word and act
"He who followeth Me, walketh not in darkness." sayeth the Lord
