On [the Feast of Mercy]

Post by Denise » Sun Apr 08, 2018 8:32 am

Tell the whole world about My inconceivable mercy. … On [the Feast of Mercy] the very depths of My tender mercy are open. I pour out a whole ocean of graces upon those souls who approach the Fount of My Mercy.

The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment. …

Let no soul fear to draw near to Me, even though its sins be as scarlet. My mercy is so great that no mind, be it of man or angel, will be able to fathom it throughout all eternity. Everything that exists has come forth from the very depths of My most tender mercy. … The Feast of Mercy emerged from My very depths of tenderness. It is My desire that it be solemnly celebrated on the first Sunday after Easter. Mankind will not have peace until it turns to the Fount of My Mercy
(Diary of Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska, 699).

Jesus promises unfathomable graces on this day to souls that will go to confession beforehand and then receive Him worthily in Holy Communion on the Feast of Mercy (see Diary, 699.)
Our Lord spoke directly to St. Faustina about the significance of Divine Mercy Sunday:

Souls perish in spite of My bitter Passion. I am giving them the last hope of salvation; that is, the Feast of My Mercy. If they will not adore My mercy, they will perish for all eternity (Diary, 965).
Devotion to the souls in Purgatory contains in itself all the works of mercy, which supernaturalized by a spirit of faith, should merit us Heaven. de Sales
