hidden users

What is it mean when it shows there are "Hidden Users"? Why do they hide? Mom...are you hiding!

There is a function in your profile that you can use to hide when you are online. I am hidden, yes and so are a few others. There is one catch though, you can't hide from me and I don't think from Johnna because we have administrator status. We have an extra set of eyes @v@
