My son, James had his first communion yesterday. I was waiting until I had pics uploaded to post about it, but changed my mind. I'd rather share with you and get a pic up when I can. I never really knew the answer on this either. Thank you for finding it, Denise. The true answer does make sense. When I pray, I only try to make up prayers if I am praying a novena or some such. Then I will be sure to get all the prayers in there.

applause almost never ever happened at my old parish before we moved. Since we've moved to Indy, I've notice it happen at our parish more frequently. It makes me sad. I just pray.
